About Community Inclusion: Who we are and What we do

What is Community Inclusion at the Katz JCC?

Community Inclusion at the Katz Jewish Community Center is a vibrant and inclusive program designed to foster a sense of belonging, participation, and empowerment for individuals of all abilities. The program’s primary aim is to create an environment that celebrates diversity and ensures that every member of the community feels welcomed and valued. At the heart of Community Inclusion is the belief that everyone has unique talents, skills, and perspectives to offer. Whether someone is living with a disability or facing any other challenge, the program works tirelessly to break down barriers and provide opportunities for individuals to engage fully in JCC activities and events.

Key features of Community Inclusion at the Katz JCC include:

Accessibility: The JCC strives to be fully accessible to all individuals by providing physical accommodation and support as needed. This may include wheelchair ramps, elevators, adaptive equipment, and sensory-friendly spaces.

Diverse Programming: The program offers a diverse range of activities and events that cater to different interests and abilities. From sports and fitness classes to creative arts, cultural events, and educational workshops, there is something for everyone.

Supportive Staff: The JCC employs a team of trained and compassionate staff members who are dedicated to promoting inclusivity. They are equipped to work with individuals requiring additional assistance, ensuring that everyone can actively participate in activities they enjoy.

Community Engagement: Community Inclusion encourages interaction and socialization among all members of the JCC community. It actively seeks to build bridges between individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation.

Special Events and Celebrations: The program organizes special events and celebrations that embrace diversity and showcase the talents and achievements of all community members. These events help promote a culture of acceptance and celebration of individual differences.
