Partying For A Purpose

By: Reta Feldman, Development Associate

Katz JCC Big EventWhen I joined the team at the Katz JCC almost four years ago (wow, how time flies!), I heard all about “The Big Event” and what an amazing party the JCC throws every year! What I didn’t know was, why do we do The Big Event? From year to year, the theme of the event and location change, but the cause is always the same – we raise necessary funds to benefit children and adults with special needs, the elderly and provide financial assistance to those in need.

The Katz JCC is truly special because we provide so many programs and services to the members of our community.  There is no other place where you’ll find an adult meal program, special needs programming, an early childhood center, fitness classes and countless other activities all going on at the same time AND under one roof!  We are the epicenter for community, friends and family.

This year, our Big Event is JCC Live at the Linc – a night of Touchdowns & Tzedakah will be held on Saturday, April 1st; and no that is not an April Fool’s joke!  We’re headed to Lincoln Financial Field, home of the E-A-G-L-E-S!

Live at the Linc will feature an elaborate buffet from Barclay Caterers, yummy desserts from Classic Cake, live music by The Legacy Band, and a TON of exciting auction items up for bid!  It’s a great opportunity to come out with a group of friends and enjoy a night out while contributing to a great cause.  Even if you can’t make the event, you can easily bid on some of the awesome auction items we have up for grabs that you can check out HERE.

As you walk through the halls of the J on any day, you see kids of all ages taking swim lessons and singing on Shabbat, older adults participating in our many lectures or doing arm chair aerobics before lunch and our ACHaD Squadron Basketball Teams playing every Monday night in the gym. Let’s not forget all of our campers each and every summer enjoying all that the JCC Camps in Medford has to offer! Without your bidding and donations at JCC Live at the Linc – whether you are with us in person or Partying for a Purpose or bidding from afar, these programs and so many more would not be possible!

I hope you and your friends will join us for a night of fun and fundraising for the JCC and I look forward to seeing you all on April 1st! Don’t forget to purchase your tickets to this amazing event https://katzjcc.org/bigevent/.
