The Katz JCC is the perfect place where tweens and teens ages 11-18 can socialize and have fun while building new friendships and cultivate a sense of belonging at the JCC. Tweens (grades 6th-8th) can participate in events just for them such as Canvas Paint Night, Limo Scavenger Hunt, Ski Trip and Thanksgiving Eve Plymouth Rock Hop. For more information about programming, please contact Beth Segal at [email protected].
Project Rainbow is a partnership between the Katz JCC and Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Services, with grant funding by Camden County Board of Freeholders. This program is aimed at providing support and social opportunities for tweens (those in grades 6th-8th) and teens (those in grades 9th-12th) who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Queer. Social events will be planned in conjunction with opportunities for group support and discussion. All events will be held virtually until further notice. Meetings are free and open to the community! To learn more please contact Gaby Marantz at [email protected].
The following schedule will reflect this year’s meeting times for tweens and teens:
JCC Maccabi Games & Mid-Atlantic Junior Maccabi Games
The JCC Maccabi Games are the largest annual gathering of Jewish teens ages 13-16 from around the world! This Olympic style sports competition is held each summer and offers teens the chance to be a part of an incredible athletic, social and cultural experience. The Katz JCC’s South Jersey delegation travels to compete across the county with over 5,000 teens worldwide. In addition, the Mid-Atlantic Junior Maccabi Games is a 1 day sports competition for Jewish athletes ages 10-12. Athletes from JCCs across the Mid-Atlantic region compete each spring, and this is a great way for kids to experience the JCC Maccabi Games on a smaller scale prior to participating in the “big games.” Learn more about the JCC Maccabi Games & Mid-Atlantic Junior Maccabi Games!
Limo Scavenger Hunt, For Grades 6-8
Ride around town in style with your besties! Our Limo Scavenger Hunt will take your kiddo around South Jersey, looking for clues to solve the mystery with their team. This event takes place annually in the fall. This event starts and ends at the JCC.
Parents Night Out (formally known as Plymouth Rock Hop) For Grades 6-8
Parents can put the finishing touches on Thanksgiving, while your tween/teen and friends enjoy an evening at the JCC! We’ve hidden candy all over the JCC with clues as to which staff member stole the cookie jar. First team to figure out the mystery wins the jar!
