Our Philosophy of Learning

Our Philosophy of Learning

Welcome to the Sari Isdaner Early Childhood Center at the Katz JCC! We’re so glad you’re here. Our school isn’t just a building. It’s a community and it’s a family. Our early childhood center is here for your child and your family. From 6 weeks old up to 5 years old, students have opportunities to grow, explore, and create. Our dedicated staff is committed to creating meaningful learning experiences that promote social, emotional, physical, and academic development. Through hands-on activities, creative play, and positive relationships, we strive to build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning in each child. Our small student-teacher ratios allow each child to feel special and have personalized attention to help them flourish.

Our foundational learning is enhanced by specials that strengthen both fine and gross motor abilities such as gym, yoga, swimming, Imaginarium time, playground, Judaica, Hebrew, and music. At the Sari Isdaner Early Childhood Center, we also focus on the total child. We work on emotional regulation and offer student support services for additional assistance in speech or occupational therapy for those that may need it. Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Early childhood education is critically important to setting children on a path of lifelong learning and we take that job very seriously. Call us to set up a tour and come see for yourself what makes this place so special!

A Letter From the Director

A Letter From the Director

Dear Prospective Families,

Welcome to the Sari Isdaner Early Childhood Center at the Katz JCC — a place where curiosity is nurtured, creativity blossoms, and every child is celebrated for who they are.

As the Director of our preschool, I am thrilled to invite you to explore the joyful learning environment we’ve created for young children. At the Katz JCC ECC, we believe that early childhood is a magical time, full of wonder and discovery. Our dedicated educators are passionate about guiding children through these formative years with care, intention, and a deep respect for each child’s unique journey.

We offer a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum that encourages exploration, builds foundational skills, and fosters social-emotional growth. Whether your child is painting a masterpiece, building with blocks, or sharing stories with friends, every moment is an opportunity to learn and grow. Our curriculum also embeds important components of Judaism from learning about the holidays to Jewish values.

Our classrooms are warm, welcoming spaces where children feel safe, supported, and inspired. We value strong partnerships with families and believe that open communication and collaboration are key to a successful preschool experience.

Choosing a school is an important decision, and we are honored that you are considering Sari Isdaner Early Childhood Center at the Katz JCC. We invite you to visit us, meet our team, and see firsthand the joy and engagement that fill our days.

Thank you for your interest in our program. We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our community.

Warmly,
Stacey Unterlack
Director of Jewish Education & Early Childhood Education
