How was the rise of civilizations affected by geography? We will explore how the onset of agriculture and civilization in a few specific places in the world led to the rise in human civilization and why those locations had the right conditions geographically for societal and technological advances to take off. Locations to be examined are Mesopotamia, China, Mexico, Egypt, and the Indus Valley.
