The end of summer is always a difficult time for those of us who spend all year anxiously awaiting our amazing eight weeks at the JCC Camps at Medford. We live and breathe for camp season, and we are always sad to see it end!
Now that September is here, we are ready for our 3rd Annual Katz JCC Fall Festival at the JCC Camps at Medford this Sunday…and we can’t wait! There is nothing better than watching our campers pulling their parents by the hand, overwhelmed with excitement to show off their bunk, their favorite activities, or to say hi to a favorite counselor who is volunteering that day. We love inviting the community to enjoy some of our best camp activities (climbing boulder, high ropes, zip lining, boating, mini-golf, gaga) along with everyone’s fall festival favorites such as hay rides, pumpkin decorating, and food trucks.
This year, we have even more reason for excitement. We are thrilled to be celebrating the JCC Camps at Medford 75th anniversary at our 2017 Fall Festival! We welcome our campers, parents, staff, and alumni to rejoice in the impact camp has made on their lives as we come together to share in this milestone. Bring a special camp memento for the time capsule that will be buried here at camp. We will also be decorating ceramic tiles to create a commemorative tile wall on our campgrounds. Purchase one (or more!) for your family, and make a physical, permanent mark on you summer home: click here to purchase your tiles online!
Most importantly, though, the JCC Fall Festival came to be as a way for the entire community to come together and celebrate the fall Jewish holidays. Regardless of affiliation or denomination, Jews from across Southern NJ can join us to prepare for their Rosh Hashanah table or make decorations for their sukkah, see different types of shofars on display, or learn how to shake the lulav and etrog. We love welcoming the fall through this Jewish holiday themed event on our incredible JCC Camps at Medford campgrounds where we can truly appreciate the beauty of the fall season.
We are so excited to work with our Community Partners to bring this all to life: Congregation Beth El, Congregation Beth Tikvah, Chabad Medford, Department of Jewish Education, Kellman Brown Academy, Jewish National Fund, NJY Camps, PJ Library, Temple Beth Sholom, Politz Day School, Congregation M’Kor Shalom, Nafshenu and BBYO South Jersey Region.
