The Katz JCC has a variety of specialty wellness classes and programs that are intended for people seeking recovery from illness, a specific health condition, or those looking to improve their overall health. Rise and Restore: Qigong and Chair Yoga

Adult Ballet

Come enjoy the beauty and grace of classical ballet! This is a perfect class for those getting started or revisiting ballet again as an adult. This class will cover basic ballet positions, steps and vocabulary with a focus on the student’s awareness of proper posture and body alignment. Barre work and center floor exercises will be given to enhance coordination, strength, balance and flexibility. Participants will also develop a sense of musical awareness and movement quality. No prior ballet experience necessary. This class is for all levels!

Dancing Stars
Wednesdays, March 18 – May 20 (No class April 1 & April 8)

This creative movement series will introduce the basics of dance to students ages 3-5. Kids will have the opportunity to let loose and express themselves freely through movement, and will be hopping, skipping, and sashaying throughout our spacious studio. Each class will begin with a warm-up followed by new dance steps pulled from a wide array of styles, including ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop. Each class will introduce a theme, which will be reinforced through storytelling during rest times to encourage interdisciplinary learning. This class can be modified to accommodate physical differences.

Yin Yoga
