Self-Defense Workshop for Women

This introductory course is designed to elevate one’s situational awareness and learn basic self-defense skills commensurate with ability. Objectives include an increased level of confidence in avoiding, or engaging in, a physical confrontation. This is both a lecture and a hands-on class with emphasis on safe practice of physical components. Students will learn and practice releases, blocks, strikes and kicks. The presenter is certified by Empower and has experience in martial arts, boxing and verbal de-escalation. Further shorter practice sessions may be scheduled once introductory class is completed.
