There are only 70 days until camp begins!!! It may seem crazy since the weather is so unpredictable, but we are actively preparing for summer camp fun!
I am the new Director of Early Childhood Camps (ECC) and I now have a camp administrative team. Sharon Gosizk is the official Assistant Director and Becky Springel is our new Program Specialist.
This new team has been keeping busy enhancing the programming of the ECC at the Katz JCC. This summer we will offer a new and exciting nature component along with art, gym, and most exciting an infusion of our early childhood STEAM program. We are also adding a cooking specialist, and a new music program. Rockness Music brings us their Preschool of Rock Program. And of course, each camper will partake in our swim program through the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy. Keep a look out for a feature of all our programs on our newly created ECC Facebook page.
And to top all this off, this summer we will have a camp theme: Be Your Own Superhero. Each morning we will all gather together for community time where the children and counselors will sing together, learn some new Hebrew words and do their morning superhero warmups. Creating community is very important to us!
Each week will be a focus on different types of superpowers. We will teach an array of Jewish values through the character lessons we can learn from our own and other superheroes.
