The Katz JCC hosts many fitness and wellness special events throughout the year that are open to the community. All these events are a great way to get your family and friends involved in a healthy activity!
100 Days of Summer Fitness Challenge
This summer, the JCC also wants you to get moving! Join us for our 100 Days of Summer Fitness Challenge, Memorial Day through Labor Day, May 28 – September 4, 2017. We are doing this challenge, along with JCCs across North America to celebrate the JCC movement’s centennial. Compete as an individual and as part of your JCC team. The JCC Association will present awards to the top three JCCs and the top three Individual Champions! Track your exercise throughout the summer by logging in here.
Israeli Krav Maga
Women will learn the Israeli contact combat self-defense system that combines a wide variety of techniques focused on real-world situations. This one day seminar is open to women of all athletic abilities and will take place on Wednesday, August 2, 7:30-9:30pm. Learn More & Register Online.
Yoga For Movement & Motivation
In recognition of National Parkinson’s Month, join us to relax and revive your brain through this movement and motivational, mind and body class. Improve balance, focus and flexibility through different yoga poses and postures.
Expresso Bike Challenge
Join in the national JCC Expresso Bike Challenge! Help the Katz JCC shine as we bike against other JCC’s throught the country through the month of May.
Our annual Kids Triathlon is open to kids in the community ages 7-12. Our kid-friendly course allows participants to be a part of a heart-healthy activity and gain a sense of accomplishment as they swim, bike and run to the finish line.
Eric & Andy Sussman 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
This event is held in the spring each year, in memory of local brothers who lost their individual battles to cancer. Tournaments are held for adults, teens and children. Proceeds from the event benefit Coaches vs. Cancer and the JCC’s youth basketball programs.
Indoor Wiffleball Tournament
Round up a team and play ball in our wiffleball tournament. Teams are comprised of 3-4 players.
Be a part of a fun and friendly kickball tournament at the J! There will be 3 to 4 players per team with a 6 team limit.
Cycle for Good
JCC’s across North America will cycle all at the same time, riding for a good cause. Riders can reserve a bike per hour session and are encouraged to ask family and friends to sponsor the ride. Proceeds raised benefit the Katz JCC’s financial assistance fund.
Indoor Soccer Tournament
Dribble, shoot, score with friends in our indoor soccer tournament. Teams are comprised of 5-7 players.
Our annual 5K, which takes place in the fall, is a fun morning for the entire family on the USATF certified course through picturesque Cherry Hill. The JCC chip-times the participants and give out a dri-fit 5K shirt. Prizes are then awarded to top finishers.
Healthy Heart Month
The Katz JCC recognizes February as its annual Healthy Heart Month through a month-long series of programs such as: fitness with flavor (PDF), fitness “thons” (PDF), special yoga classes (PDF), recovery training (PDF), health screenings and much more. Healthy Heart Month is held in conjunction with Cooper University Health Care.
