The Katz JCC hosts many fitness and wellness special events throughout the year that are open to the community. All these events are a great way to get your family and friends involved in a healthy activity!

FREE Strengthen Your Abs Wellness Lecture

Dr. Scott Yorker will guide you through various abdominal exercises designed to strengthen the core and alleviate back pain.

Cooking with Heart for Kids

This class is meant to empower kids to make heart healthy food choices. Kids will learn basic food safety and cooking skills that they can use on their own or with the guidance of an adult. This class is hands on food prep and cooking demonstration with recipes that are simple and healthy for kids. Parent/guardians are welcome to join in on the fun (includes smoothie and snack).

Mason Jar Prep Party

FREE Menopause and Metabolism

How to Stay Fit Where You Sit Wellness Lecture

Dr. Scott Yorker will be giving one on one instruction on how to sit with proper body mechanics and ergonomics and will give instruction on exercises to fix the common problems associated with sitting incuding back and neck pain related to headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome. Refreshments will e served and all attendees will receive a free private consultation with Dr. Yorker.

Kids Triathlon

Our annual Kids Triathlon is open to kids in the community ages 6-13. Our kid-friendly course allows participants to be a part of a heart-healthy activity and gain a sense of accomplishment as they swim, bike and run to the finish line.

Eric & Andy Sussman 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

This event is held in the spring each year, in memory of local brothers who lost their individual battles to cancer. Tournaments are held for adults, teens and children.  Proceeds from the event benefit Coaches vs. Cancer and the JCC’s youth basketball programs.

Indoor Wiffleball Tournament

Round up a team and play ball in our wiffleball tournament. Teams are comprised of 3-4 players. Ages 15+.

Kickball Tournament

Be a part of a fun and friendly kickball tournament at the J! There will be 3 to 4 players per team with a 6 team limit.

Cycle for Good

JCC’s across North America will cycle all at the same time, riding for a good cause. Riders can reserve a bike per hour session and are encouraged to ask family and friends to sponsor the ride. Proceeds raised benefit the Katz JCC’s financial assistance fund.

Indoor Soccer Tournament

Dribble, shoot, score with friends in our indoor soccer tournament. Teams are comprised of 5-7 players.

5K Run

Our annual 5K, which takes place in the fall, is a fun morning for the entire family on the USATF certified course through picturesque Cherry Hill. The JCC chip-times the participants and give out a dri-fit 5K shirt. Prizes are then awarded to top finishers.
